Steve is an avid outdoorsman who describes himself as an outdoor painter. He has benefited from the opportunities to visit places ranging from the bone fish flats of Florida to the rain swept tundra of the Alaskan peninsula. These experiences are reflected in the diversity of his subject matter.
Oils and soft pastels are the primary medium of this Sherwood, Oregon artist. Steve received his formal art training from his father, who was a commercial artist, and also from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Steve is also trained as a journeyman carpenter.
Steve has been selected as one of the top ten artists in Wisconsin wildlife stamp design contests on three different occasions. Steve was also selected as artist of the year for the Timber Wolf alliance. In addition, he was selected as artist of the year for the Lee Le Blanc art show in Michigan. Recently his work has been chosen for the 19<sup>th</sup> national Art Exhibition and Sale in Fort Collins, Colorado. His works are included in many private and corporate collections throughout the country. In 2011 Steve won the Juror's Choice and First Ladies Choice Awards in the Bismarck Art and Gallery Show. He has also been accepted in various Plein Air Art shows and the Northwest Pastel Society Juried Art Show. He recently won Honorable Mention in the Wallowa Valley Festival of the Arts.
Currently Steve lives in Sherwood Oregon with his wife, Jean and son David.
